Due to the demands and challenges of daily life, many older people find themselves suffering from anxiety, stress or depression. Sometimes due to their illness they have lost confidence in themselves and find it difficult to make friends and join in everyday social activities.

 

The Social Focus Service aims to provide a relaxed and enjoyable environment for people over the age of fifty who suffer from anxiety, stress or depression. Our objectives are:

 

   To help each individual by giving them the confidence and self-esteem needed to progress forward
   To support and encourage each individual to access a variety of activities within their local community

 

The service aims to help individuals over an initial six month period, during which time assessments will be ongoing and hopefully lead to appropriate placements in mainstream day clubs or other social-based activities within the community.
